Peter Tuttle was born in New Hampshire and educated at Commonweath School and Columbia University. His books include The Porch of Common Prayer, Looking for a Sign in the West, Pigeon Cove, Desire, and a translation for the Barnes & Noble classics series of The Canterbury Tales into Modern English. His work has been published in American Heritage, Yankee, North Shore, and literary journals.
